Deep Winter

Introducing Deep Winter Coat, an easy to wear, classically stylish cabled cardigan with a rustic edge. Comfortable and cozy due to its wrap-around silhouette, a thick hand knit belt hugs your waist while the deep shawl collar wards off the winter chill. Decadently cozy in worsted weight yarn held double, Deep Winter’s soothing stockinette meets bountiful cables which will captivate your needles this season.

Deep Winter Coat is knit seamlessly from the top down in a relaxed style and a longer fit for a revived classic feel. Begin by casting on each back shoulder separately, then join shoulders along the back of the neckline, working flat to the armholes. The stitches for the front shoulders are then picked up along the back and worked flat. Once all three pieces (back, front left and front right) are worked to the armholes, they are joined into one piece and worked flat to the hem.

The set in sleeves are worked by picking up stitches around the sleeve holes, working short rows to create a smooth-fitting sleeve cap which is then joined in the round and knit to the hem.

The collar is picked up and worked in a 1x1 ribbing, with short rows used to create a wide, cozy collar around the neckline. Lastly an optional belt is worked in 1x1 ribbing for a classic wrap-around style with rustic vibes.
