Alchemist Pullover

•  Custom fit video

•  CDD - central double decrease

•  Sewn bind-off

Alchemist Pullover builds on everything we loved about the Slipover: seamless lines, sculpted shoulders, and that perfect mix of structure and softness. Knit in DK weight from the top down, it’s the kind of sweater you finish and immediately want to wear out the door.

Ours is shown in Yarn Nouveau’s DK Merino, color Dark Forest; a deep tonal green that gives simple stockinette real depth. With its soft drape, clean neckline, and relaxed silhouette, this pullover is one you’ll reach for again and again, easy to style and effortless to wear.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Modern and wearable: A chic silhouette that works with everything.

  • Seamless top-down design: No seaming required.

  • Set-in look, without the seams: Contiguous sleeve shaping gives a neat, tailored fit that’s easy to knit.

  • Customizable fit: Adjust the body and sleeve lengths to suit your style.

Construction Overview

Worked from the top down using the contiguous sleeve method (don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds). This technique shapes the shoulders and sleeves as you knit, creating that set-in look without a single seam.

You’ll begin flat, shaping the front and back necklines as you go, then join in the round once the yoke is complete. The body continues in stockinette with an optional long split hem in 2x2 ribbing. Sleeves are picked up and knit in the round, finished with matching rib cuffs. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline for a softly structured 2x2 V-neck collar.

Sizing & Fit

Alchemist Pullover is meant to be worn with 4–8" (10–20 cm) of positive ease, so it fits comfortably around the body without feeling tight.

To choose your size, measure your full bust and add 4–8" depending on how relaxed you’d like the fit. For example, if your bust measures 42", knit the 48" size for 6" of ease. Or if your bust measures 56", knit the 60" size for 4" of ease.

Choosing a size outside the recommended ease range may result in sleeves, shoulders, and yoke that don’t fit as intended.
