Three Season Pullover is the V neck counterpart to the Three Season Cardigan. Classic cables meet a relaxed, modern fit, creating a sweater that layers easily and works across changing seasons.

The cotton wool fabric hits a sweet spot between warmth and breathability, and the shaping through the shoulders and body keeps the silhouette clean and comfortable. It’s an everyday sweater with just enough texture to stay interesting on the needles and easy to wear once finished.

Design Details

Cables travel across the fabric to create visual structure on the front and back. The V neckline sits neatly and frames the collarbone, while the shaped shoulders help the sweater rest naturally on the body.

The overall look is classic but relaxed. It pairs just as easily with jeans as it does layered over a dress or collared shirt, making it a piece you’ll reach for often.

Construction Overview

Three Season Pullover is worked from the top down.

Back shoulder pieces are worked separately and joined across the back neck. The remainder of the back is worked flat. Front panels are picked up from the shoulders and shaped into the V neck, then joined with the back to form the body.

Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round and finished with 1x1 ribbing. Collar stitches are picked up and worked in the round to complete the neckline.

Yarn Notes

We recommend a worsted weight cotton and wool blend for this design. The blend keeps the sweater warm while staying light and breathable, and it gives the cables clear definition without feeling heavy.

Suggested yarns:

Cascade Cantata

70% Cotton / 30% Merino Wool

218 yds (200 m) per 100g

Katia Concept Cotton Merino

70% Cotton / 30% Wool

115 yds (105 m) per 50g

Both are blown tube constructions that create an airy fabric with excellent texture. Testers also had great results using 100% merino wool.
