Plumeria is a breezy tank top, great for layering under your favorite cardigan or denim jacket for effortless Late Summer into Early Autumn style.
Flirty and a joy to knit, Plumeria features a construction that is both engaging and easy to customize. The tank top is knit flat and then joined in the round, utilizing a top-down construction which requires almost no seaming (only an inch or two at the underarm.) The intuitive lace body is knit in the round and finished with a charming picot bind-off which accentuates Plumeria's beautiful drape and movement.
As with all our patterns, Plumeria includes video tutorials which share the techniques we used for this project, including: Construction & Customization Tips, Knitting I-cord for the Straps and videos for the special Twisted Center Double Decrease featured in the gorgeous lace body.
Plumeria’s intuitive, engaging lace is a showstopper especially when knit in fingering weight yarn with lustrous drape like Smoked Sock a scrumptious 70% Natural Light Grey Baby Alpaca, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere by Olann, shown here in Pear and Atone.
This design is especially lovely in that special fiber blend you may have tucked away in your stash such as alpaca, cashmere, silk, yak, bamboo, linen and other fine blends with luxe drape and excellent stitch definition.
