Whidbey Sweater

Designed for Men, Women & Children - Whidbey Sweater, knit in DK, is that perfect-fitting blank canvas onto which “choose your own adventure”-style weaving of all your pretty scrap yarns can be applied. A nifty illustrated guide which includes 8 weaving examples is included to inform & inspire! Whidbey Sweater is a blend beautiful and comfy compound raglan shaping, plenty of mindless stockinette and scrappy Whidbey weavin' which will keep you entertained all season long.

The base of the Whidbey Sweater is a straightforward and great fitting compound raglan worked in the round from the top down. Starting with a folded collar, the yoke is worked with increases at varying rates to create a curved raglan line that is both comfortable and flattering. After separating stitches at the end of the yoke, both the body and sleeves are worked in the round in plain stockinette until your desired length, ending in cozy ribbed hems. 

Then the fun begins. After blocking your sweater, use the Whidbey Weave to add as much woven texture as you please! Experiment with colors and yarn weights to put together a one-of-a-kind sweater composed of all your favorite colors, fibers, and yarn! The pattern includes 3 separate pdfs: Men's, Women's & Children's Sizes, each designed with some key differences in both style & fit:
